<h2><strong>🎯 The Role</strong></h2>
<p data-path-to-node="4">We are looking for a Tech-Savvy Accountant who combines solid German accounting expertise (HGB) with a curiosity for automation.</p>
<p data-path-to-node="5">In this role, you will own the day-to-day accounting for our German entities. However, we are not looking for a "data entry" accountant. We are looking for someone who proactively uses technology, including AI tools, to work smarter, faster, and more accurately.</p>
<h2><strong>🛠 What You’ll Do</strong> </h2>
<ul>
<li>Execute end-to-end bookkeeping and month-end closing for German entities (HGB), validating automated data feeds and focusing your manual effort only on complex accruals and quality control</li>
<li>Prepare German VAT returns and statutory filings, acting as the primary contact for external tax advisors and using AI tools to assist in drafting correspondence and summarizing regulatory updates efficiently</li>
<li>Oversee global billing and manage the reconciliation logic between our billing engine and bank feeds, investigating only the exceptions that the system flags rather than manually matching every transaction</li>
<li>Incorporate AI-assisted tools into your daily workflow to speed up research, data formatting, and communication drafting</li>
<li>Actively identify manual bottlenecks in our finance processes and propose automated solutions or smoother workflows to reduce repetitive Excel work</li>
<li>Support the financial setup for our entities in Austria, Italy, and Spain, ensuring our processes remain scalable as we grow</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>🙌 What You Bring</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>3+ years of professional experience in German accounting (HGB) is mandatory as you need a strong foundation to know what to automate</li>
<li>A comfort with new software and a mindset that embraces technology, ideally having experimented with AI tools to speed up your own work</li>
<li>Solid experience with DATEV, with familiarity with SaaS billing tools or spend management software being a strong plus</li>
<li>A detail-oriented approach that prioritizes efficiency, preferring to build a clean process over doing the same manual task twice</li>
<li>Fluent German (C2) and strong English (C1)</li>
