Job description
As an Associate Producer at Ubi MTL, you will be responsible for the development of a specific part of a game. Depending on the production strategy and the project's organizational structure, your area could be an element such as animation, level design, gameplay, the world, or a combination of several.
In short, you will guide one or multiple multidisciplinary teams to bring the portion assigned to you to life, from start to finish. You will combine well-designed workflows with clear expectations so that your team members do their best work and maximize their talents.
Through careful planning, tracking and oversight, you will maintain the development momentum, ensuring time is spent on the right things and adapting as needed.
While pushing production capacity and quality, you will ensure your team is ready and able to deliver its part of the game on time and in a welcoming environment.
What you will do
- Work in partnership with the leadership team to understand the overall game vision and requirements and communicate them across production.
- Define the scope of your specific domain: determine deliverables, quality objectives and key milestones & establish development strategies and budgets.
- Put everything in place to prepare for production: develop workflows and pipelines and implement ways to facilitate interaction between colleagues.
- Set clear objectives for your team members and ensure the process of achieving those objectives is as smooth as possible.
- Anticipate risks and implement action plans to overcome them.
- Meet with your team to clarify milestones, prioritize deliverables, check progress, address concerns, provide guidance, gather feedback, etc.
- Synchronize with the Producer, Production Director and Production Managers on progress and momentum and track budgets.
- Identify opportunities to improve and evolve our processes, methods and practices.
- Participate in recruiting to build your team and support professional development and career progression.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of production or project management experience in the video game industry;
- High flexibility to adapt to a variety of situations and manage interdependencies;
- Familiarity with various project management methodologies;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;
- A thoughtful, collaborative and innovative mindset;
- A people-focused approach: of course you care about results, but you never lose sight of the dedicated people who produce them.
