Position description
As a Cinematic Director at Ubi MTL on the Helix team, you are responsible for directing and ensuring the overall quality of the production of cinematic elements.
What you will do:
- Develop concepts in close collaboration with the creative/narrative director and the project; ensure the message is clear and that the narrative line aligns with the title's vision;
- Structure and organize content so that it contributes to the satisfaction of the project, the player and the viewer;
- Propose different ways to convey a visual message according to the project's objectives;
- Validate deliverables related to your project and lead content and brainstorming meetings;
- Provide feedback and support and work with the production team to meet quality objectives on schedule;
- Communicate content objectives to the art team in accordance with the art direction;
- Actively take part in the creation of game trailers, if applicable;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Cinematics
- Lead the cinematics team as well as the overall quality of the production of cinematic elements;
- Work with writers to iterate and improve scripted scenes when necessary;
- Work with level designers to ensure good coherence both in the geographical placement of scenes within levels and in continuity and action flow for a player;
- Direct actors (voice, motion capture, live action) and/or the subcontractor team participating in shoots if applicable;
- Actively participate in voice recordings, sound mixing and final editing of the product, if applicable.
Qualifications
What you bring to the team:
- Relevant experience (video games, broadcasting or film);
- Strong technical skills and broad knowledge of cinematography;
- Understanding of the craft and rules of cinematography;
- Strong artistic qualities and aptitude in multimedia arts;
- Good understanding and broad knowledge of video games;
- Positive influence and leadership;
- Sharp creative sense;
- Open-mindedness and ability to gain consensus;
- Good communication skills;
- Excellent client vision.
