FUNCTION
Reporting to the CIVIL QA/QC Lead, the main activities of the CIVIL / inspector are to: inspire safety commitment in client and all contractors and subcontractors teams via deep knowledge of HSE and leadership by example; ensure compliance with all relevant HSE requirements across works to promote a healthy and safe work environment; analyse and report performance of all contractors and subcontractors activities, identify any deviations/risks and contribute to timely propose mitigations to project management team; assist his/her manager to ensure compliance with agreed standards and specifications; to maintain good relationships with contractors/subcontractors, whilst ensuring the necessary controls are in place to achieve the objectives of the project; report activities which may have a detrimental effect on quality and schedule and cost area management team; to liaise with other disciplines to improve effectiveness of the team; keep his/her manager informed of all events which may affect the successful completion of the project goals; act as QA / QC / inspection representative with the contractor and subcontractors ensuring fully conversant and compliant with all company project QA / QC / civil and concrete Inspection related standards and procedures; review/comment on contractors’ quality plans, ITP’s and related documentation; ensure correct inspection workforce levels are maintained by contractor and subcontractors; ensure that all nonconformities are resolved, track trends and make recommendations to management; participate in management of site QA / QC / civil and concrete inspection interfaces and ensure that company / project standards and procedures are fully aligned; participate in daily/weekly/monthly meetings as required; compile necessary reports (daily/weekly/monthly) related to the discipline and scope; advise his/her manager and other discipline superintendents on all aspects of QA / QC / concrete and civil inspection activities; supervise and control the contractors, their sub-contractors and extended supply chain in all QA/QC civil / concrete and inspection activities, to ensure that the plant is constructed in compliance with "company" specifications, agreed external specifications, approved procedures, and drawings, etc.; assist to gather and validates "lessons learnt" from all project team and provides feedback.
