Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.
Kairos Power is looking for a highly motivated Compute Software and Infrastructure intern to work within a small software development team that supports the needs of our design, research, and development organizations. In this role you will support engineering teams in the development of code and compute infrastructure related to the design and analysis of nuclear power systems. This includes implementation of modeling methods in computational physics and mathematics, development of analysis tools, assisting in the application of coding best practices to a variety of software projects, deploying CI/CD pipelines, and building out cloud-based compute infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in supporting all teams in their modeling and development efforts, ensuring that teams have the well-developed, scalable, and robust tools and workflows needed to support and advance the company’s mission. The position requires a strong self-starting mentality and diverse skills across physics, mathematics, and software development.
The hourly range for this position is $32-34 for employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California.
