As an Environment Team Lead (3D) at Ubi MTL, you will guide the creation of immersive and visually captivating worlds. A true environment architect and visual storyteller, you will play a central role in designing game spaces that evoke a unique atmosphere and enrich players' experiences.
Whether creating a level, designing a side mission, or enriching the details of an open world, every element you place — from buildings to props — tells a story, sparks imagination, and sets an unforgettable mood.
What you will do
- Work closely with level design and art direction to understand and execute the game vision;
- Coordinate and inspire your level artist team while balancing creativity with technical performance;
- Organize and run regular meetings to assign tasks, set priorities, and track progress;
- Find a balance between artistic direction, technical goals and production constraints to maintain high quality standards;
- Evaluate integrated work to ensure it aligns with the artistic vision and is implemented functionally;
- Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to develop a cohesive, high-quality visual style;
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and trends;
- Actively participate in recruiting and building a strong team of talented artists.
Qualifications
What you bring to the team
- Proven experience in modeling, texturing, lighting and visual techniques, or another relevant area;
- Proficiency with 3D software (such as 3DS Max or Maya) and optimization techniques;
- Excellent understanding of fundamental artistic principles (lighting, composition, color theory, etc.);
- Recognized skills in mentorship, communication, organization and time management;
- Exceptional flexibility and the ability to solve creative and technical challenges resourcefully;
- A collaborative spirit and desire to build strong team relationships;
- Strong attention to detail.
