Helical Pile Solutions is a deep foundations contractor with over 30 years of experience in the industry, recently acquired by Java Holdings. Java staff have over 50 years of experience building some of Canada’s largest electrical infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced Estimator for Concrete Piling, Helical Piling, Sheet Piling and Shoring to join our team in planning, bidding and executing new projects. This position is based out of our office in Nisku, AB.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Review RFP, contract and addenda including scope of work, drawings, and specifications
- Prepare the overall project estimate including productivities as well as quantity take-offs for labour, equipment, materials and other services.
- Develop the bid schedule including milestones, activity completions etc.
- Identify potential risks and delivery impacts and allocate contingency appropriately
- Prepare RFIs for submission to the client during the tendering process
- Identify and escalate assumptions and exceptions including gaps and missing information
- Obtain subcontractor and supplier pricing including review and selection
- Interface with external parties including clients, estimators, Project Managers, Engineering and subcontractors.
- Interface with HPS teams including Safety, Quality, and Manufacturing for estimating of projects
Qualifications
- preferred 3+ years of estimating experience in deep foundation installation
- Knowledge of current piling construction practices, techniques, and equipment.
- Able to understand and interpret construction documents, drawings and contracts.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and MS Project
- Able to multi-task multiple projects including office work as well as site work
- Strong oral and written communication skills and professionalism with operations, client, management, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
