As the team lead for cheat prevention and player protection, you will guide a group of talented and motivated programmers and technical leads who develop the technologies needed to create the games Ubisoft fans expect. Your technical knowledge, leadership skills and ability to make informed decisions will help you achieve your ambitions. Your work will be driven by passion and pride.
Motivated by seeing your team thrive, you will support their professional development by ensuring their wellbeing, acting as their advocate in meetings with other teams and management, and making sure each person has a role that challenges them and lets them shine.
Your broad vision and deep understanding of what everyone on your team does will allow you to coordinate work and amplify the results of everyone's efforts. What motivates you most is seeing your team grow and deliver high-quality, consistent systems that contribute to the rich player experience we aim to provide.
Job description - What you will do:
- Assign tasks and track progress across projects during team meetings.
- With your team's help, proactively identify threats to multiplayer online games and plan the best responses.
- Collaborate with other teams (gameplay, physics, network, engine) to continually improve and harden the codebase.
- Provide your team with the tools they need to work independently and contribute to the long-term technical vision of projects.
- Meet one-on-one with each team member to discuss performance, wellbeing and career growth.
- Communicate regularly with leads from other disciplines to plan, assess risks and meet deadlines.
- Code alongside members of your team.
- Keep your project manager informed of progress and meet other project leads (inside or outside your project) to discuss ways to improve processes and share technology.
Qualifications - What you bring:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or an equivalent field.
- Extensive experience in game programming (strong technical knowledge of engine and/or online programming and/or gameplay and security is an asset), or extensive experience with large live systems (platforms involving many disciplines).
- At least three years of experience managing a team of programmers.
- Proficiency in C++ and other programming languages commonly used to develop games or online platforms.
- Experience participating in the full production of at least one game or the equivalent as a programming team lead.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and strategic leadership skills, coupled with high empathy and diplomacy.
- Ability to remain calm in difficult situations (you know there is always a solution).
- A solid understanding of game production and the ability to see things from the perspective of other professionals involved in production.
