Our client who builds a strong platform for future growth in the Specialty Chemicals and value added Calcium Carbonate product market, is looking to hire a Mill and Pan Operator. The Mill and Pan Operator will be responsible for operating milling and mixing equipment to produce high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of processing activities and the ability to ensure that all operations meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Operate the raw stone milling plant.
- Operate the pelletizing plant with a focus on granulation.
- Operate the binder batching plant.
- Ensure an uninterrupted flow of raw material between the milling and pelletizing plants.
- Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment.
- Ensure that the operators and packers continuously have consumables readily available (i.e. empty pallets, binder, raw feed, seed and bulk bags).
- Ensure that the quality of the product meets standard before being placed into stock.
- Ensure compliance with all SHEQ policies, processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Must have a Craft / trade certificate in Mechanical fitting.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid forklift operating certificate.
- Experience in operating a mill and granulating pan will be an added advantage.
- Work experience in heavy industry environment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Proven experience as a Mill and Pan Operator or in a similar role within the limestone industry.
- Strong knowledge of safety and quality control standards.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
