Our client who builds a strong platform for future growth in the Specialty Chemicals and value added Calcium Carbonate product market, is looking to hire a Millwright. The Millwright will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment and machinery in our client's manufacturing facility. Their expertise in mechanical systems will be crucial in ensuring optimal production efficiency and reliability.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for installing, assembling and aligning of milling and pelletizing equipment as per technical specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, diagnose mechanical problems and repair (including welding and fabrication) or replace faulty parts to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify the root cause of problems and implement solutions to restore equipment to optimal operating conditions and avoid re-occurrence.
- Manage the maintenance system – job cards, detailing maintenance activities, repairs and any issues encountered to maintain records and track equipment performance.
- Ensure a safe working environment, adherence to safety protocols and identification of potential hazards.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and effective problem-solving.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Certification in welding would be advantageous.
- Experience in maintenance of Raymond Mills.
- A thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to communicate well within a team.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Experience with maintenance systems and ERP systems.
- Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical problems effectively.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Experience with various hand and power tools used for maintenance and repair.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy objects.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to on-call maintenance needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
