You will more specifically join the Licensing group, whose mission is to integrate the best songs and musical tracks at the heart of Ubisoft experiences.
Alongside the Music Licensing Specialists already in place you will be responsible for coordinating the acquisition of licenses for musical works and ensuring their smooth handling across a wide variety of projects, to meet the musical needs of Ubisoft teams.
Main responsibilities:
- Work closely with music licensing specialists to understand their needs and budgets, and communicate music research to partners.
- Identify rights holders (publishers and record labels) of musical works, draft proposals and follow up on requests, from sending the proposal to receiving agreements.
- Track received agreements and license conditions, and collect license-related elements (audio files, lyrics, credits).
- Develop trusted relationships with internal partners (legal, marketing, production) and external partners (record labels, publishers), and propose new partners as needed.
- Ensure rigorous archiving of licenses in internal tracking tools, and coordinate with the administrative coordinator to guarantee payment processing and contract finalization.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you have prior experience in a similar position in the music industry (record label, music publisher, rights management), the video game industry or a similar industry (television, film, etc.), preferably in an international environment. Your experience will include:
- Good knowledge and understanding of copyright related to publishing and sound recording.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Autonomy, rigor and initiative, with the ability to propose relevant ideas within the team.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, structure processes and mobilize contributions from others.
- Solution-oriented approach, with strong resilience in the face of unforeseen events and challenges.
- Fluent command of English, written and spoken, essential for international exchanges.
- Strong interest in the world of video games and production considered an asset.
Additional Information:
We adopt a hybrid work model that helps you stay connected with your team and aligned with company priorities, while giving you the possibility to maintain your work-life balance. Note that some roles are fully office-based and are not eligible for hybrid work.
For info: If you need a work permit, your eligibility may depend on your education and years of relevant work experience as required by the government.
Skills and knowledge come in many forms and can be based on relevant experiences, which is why we strongly encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all the listed requirements.
At Ubisoft, we encourage diversity in all its forms. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment for all. We know it is important for the interview to be comfortable. Therefore, if you need accommodations, please let us know if we can do anything to facilitate the interview process.
