We are seeking a passionate and skilled Nutritionist to join our team at BCM-CFM. The Nutritionist will play a vital role in improving the health and well being of children, adolescents, and families affected by HIV by providing high-quality, evidence-based nutrition care. The role combines direct patient support, program development, mentorship, and collaboration with clinical teams to ensure holistic care and better outcomes for clients.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
- Provide nutrition assessments, counseling, and education for children and adolescents living with HIV.
- Support distribution and monitoring of therapeutic and supplementary feeds for malnourished clients.
- Mentor staff, students, and adolescent peer mentors in nutrition best practices.
- Contribute to nutrition services at Teen Clubs, Young Motherhood Clinics, and specialized programs such as Camp Hope Malawi and pediatric oncology at KCH.
- Lead nutrition-related education, cooking demonstrations, and food security activities.
- Compile timely reports and contribute to research, quality improvement, and grant development.
- Represent BCM-CFM in national nutrition meetings and technical working groups.
Requirements
- Degree in Nutrition or related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in nutrition service delivery.
- Experience in HIV-related programs preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Fluent in English and Chichewa.
- Strong communication, counseling, and problem-solving skills.
