About your team / Ko te tīma
The Digital and Information Services team guide WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru to make sound technology decisions, investing where appropriate, and leveraging common easy to use systems that are well connected, secure, managed, and standardised.
We are committed to enabling WorkSafe and our users, using practical tools and appropriate systems, to harness the power of digital to support a healthy and safe workplace.
In this role, you'll be accountable for delivering user-centric design outcomes that are intuitive, accessible, and inclusive. You'll be a key contributor in cross-functional product teams, engaging closely with internal stakeholders, subject-matter experts, product owners, and WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru customers. Excellent communication skills are essential—you'll need to listen deeply, collaborate across all levels of the business, and lead user engagement activities to gather insights and validate design decisions.
Your ability to empathise with users, particularly those navigating difficult processes, will be critical. Many of our customers may not be digitally confident, so your designs must make their experience as straightforward and stress-free as possible. Experience in service design, design thinking, and Lean UX will support your ability to zoom out to the full journey and zoom in to the interface-level detail. The role will require someone with a high degree of learning agility, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset.
