Role Overview
As Program & Innovation Manager, Legal Operations, you will be a key member of our Legal team, driving strategic initiatives focused on operational efficiency, technology adoption, process optimization, and specifically leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI). You will serve as the operational point of reference for enhancing the internal workings of the legal team and will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Tech, Product, Marketing, Compliance, and other business stakeholders. Your role involves providing strategic support for operational innovation, managing key projects with legal/regulatory impact, and ensuring the legal team operates as efficiently and effectively as possible, with a strong focus on integrating cutting-edge AI solutions.
Your mission:
Technology Management & Tools: Manage and optimize the entire legal technology stack, including the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system and other tools (e.g., Notion), ensuring continuous updates and improvements. Oversee efficient legal documentation management.
Process Optimization & AI-Driven Innovation: Analyze existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement innovative solutions to boost the legal team's efficiency and other teams' self-sufficiency. Actively identify, evaluate, and implement AI tools and solutions to automate tasks, gain insights from data, and enhance legal operational processes.
Performance Monitoring: Define, track, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for legal operations (e.g., request lead times) to measure the impact of initiatives and guide future decisions.
Strategic Project Coordination: Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects with significant legal/regulatory components (e.g., Data Protection, Corporate, Contracting, Investments), ensuring alignment with priorities, adherence to deadlines, and supporting the legal team's OKR monitoring.
Operational Support & Registries: Maintain key internal registries (e.g., contractual exceptions, third-party trademark usage) and provide operational support in vendor management (onboarding, audits).
Your ideal profile:
Background: You have solid experience (ideally 5+ years) in Legal Operations, Project/Program Management, or similar roles, preferably within dynamic tech, fintech, or start-up environments. A degree in Business, Management Engineering, IT, or Law (with a strong tech/ops inclination) provides a good foundation.
Process-Oriented & Innovation Mindset: You possess an analytical mindset, skilled in identifying inefficiencies and designing practical, innovative solutions. You are naturally curious about new technologies, with a demonstrated interest and understanding of AI applications and their potential within the legal operations landscape.
Technological Proficiency: You are familiar with Legal Tech tools, particularly CLM systems, and collaboration/project management platforms (e.g., Notion, Jira, Asana). You are comfortable implementing and managing new technologies, including evaluating and integrating AI-powered tools.
Project Management: You are experienced in managing complex projects, coordinating diverse stakeholders, and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments.
Analytical Skills: You can define, collect, and interpret data and KPIs to measure process effectiveness and support decisions, potentially leveraging AI for enhanced analytics.
Collaboration and Communication: You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with the legal team, technical teams, and stakeholders at all levels.
Adaptability and Proactivity: You excel in fast-paced, evolving work environments, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Language Proficiency: You are fluent in English; knowledge of Italian is a significant plus.
