At Black Box, the project management role drives the artist development process forward. In collaboration with the digital marketer, the project manager works across a roster of clients and projects, executing the marketing timeline with best-in-class coordination and communication. It is the job of the project manager to serve as the first line of contact for the client, navigating both the music rollout plan and the evergreen artist development strategy with a focus on building real fans, engagement, and opportunities for the artist. The project manager must be all-in with a love for music marketing and tapped into the latest trends and opportunities. This role sets up the perfect stepping stone for an aspiring music industry executive to learn, exercise creativity, and accelerate his or her career while supporting emerging and established talent.
Core Responsibilities:
- Central point of communication between the client and the associated teams.
- Manage and lead weekly marketing calls with clients.
- Create and oversee timelines and marketing plans for clients.
- Provide feedback and edits on all deliverables, based on an understanding of the client.
- Organize and participate in brainstorms around projects and music releases.
- Create and oversee marketing materials through the life of a project.
- Actively search out marketing opportunities around each project.
- Ensure that the full artist team is aligned in direction and action.
- Send updates to the artist team around the actions of projects, movements of their releases, and updated marketing materials.
- Problem solve client issues, communicating effectively and constructively.
- Provide visual and stylistic creative direction for clients by sourcing creatives, style guides, and mood boards.
- Provide creative ideas to drive an artist’s social media strategy.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of label, management and/or music industry experience.
- Experience in digital marketing and social media.
- Appreciation of the power of creative in the role of marketing.
- Based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate to Los Angeles.
- Baseline competency and understanding of basic music industry functions.
