Job Title: Reporting Officer
Report to: Reporting Manager
Job Summary: The Reporting Officer will support the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports in accordance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements. This role contributes to the integrity of financial information through close collaboration with internal teams, auditors, and external stakeholders. The position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and communication skills, ideally with experience in public company reporting.
Main Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
Prepare management and performance reports for senior management and other stakeholders
Support the quarterly and year-end financial closing process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines
Assist in the implementation, documentation, and monitoring of internal control procedures
Liaise with external auditors, providing required documentation and addressing queries efficiently
Provide support for regulatory filings and disclosures for US – listed companies
Collaborate with the technical, operations and commercial departments, ensuring accurate cost allocation and vessel performance reporting
Perform other accounting and finance related tasks as required
Requirements
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
ACCA, ACA, CPA professional qualification will be an asset
Minimum of 4 - 5 years of experience in in a financial reporting role in a shipping company (owner’s side) and/or equivalent proven experience in a Big Four auditing firm, with preferred exposure to public company audits
In depth understanding of shipping accounting principles
Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with accounting/ERP systems is considered an asset
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
High level of professional integrity, accountability, and sound ethical judgement
Effective communication skills, with a proactive, collaborative, and team-oriented approach
Fluency in English and Greek (written and verbal)
German language skills are considered an advantage
