We are seeking a highly skilled and CySEC-authorised Risk Manager to lead and oversee the firm’s risk management framework. The Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating credit and market risks. This role involves developing and implementing risk management policies, frameworks, conducting risk assessments, along with ensuring full compliance with CySEC regulations and MiFID II.
As a Risk Manager, you will play an important role in the team, developing and executing in-depth analysis across a range of risk models and tools, whilst actively supporting a range of business functions within Cyprus and as part of the broader Group. The role may require shift work and includes weekend on-call rotations.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Risk Management:
- Conduct detailed risk assessments of clients and counterparties.
- Assess and monitor counterparty credit exposure, including brokers, liquidity providers and clients.
- Conduct stress esting and scenario analysis to evaluate client portfolio risk to minimise potential default risk.
- Monitor market conditions and analyse their impact on the firm’s risk exposure.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on all banking counterparties, ensuring compliance with CySEC and safeguarding for client funds.
- Granting credits or loans to one or more financial instruments, where the firm granting the credit or loan is involved in the transaction.
Regulatory and Compliance (CySEC):
- Act as the CySEC authorised person, ensuring the firm complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CySEC circulars and ensure timely submission of forms.
Risk Governance and Reporting:
- Prepare and present risk management reports to senior management, board of directors and regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with other departments to drive a holistic approach to risk management and build risk awareness within the company.
- Participate in internal risk committees and contribute to strategic decision making.
Broker Liquidity:
- Develop a deep understanding of client liquidity requirements to help provide liquidity solution and ensure optimal trade execution and pricing.
- Assist sales and broker operations teams by addressing client queries and providing detailed trade analyses.
- Play a key role in developing new product offerings, ensuring they are competitively priced and robustly structured.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field
- Proven experience working with CySEC regulated entities
- Currently, or willing, to be an approved person by CySEC (holder of a CySEC Advanced Certificate would be a plus)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel
- Strong working knowledge of MT4/MT5
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Proven experience in communicating and presenting to stakeholders
- Positive, constructive, and open-minded attitude with a desire for continuous improvement
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus
