We are seeking an experienced Shopify 2.0 Developer to build, optimize, and continuously improve a childcare product ecommerce website. You will work from an existing template to rebuild a scalable structure under Shopify 2.0, enhance UX, site speed, and conversion, and implement robust features. This role is focused on custom Shopify development, not simple theme setup
- Build custom Shopify 2.0 sections and pages based on approved wireframes.
- Convert designs into high-quality front-end code (Liquid, JavaScript, CSS).
- Customize themes to support product bundles, variants, subscriptions, and discount logic.
- Unpack premium themes and rebuild structure modularly for scalability.
- Integrate apps, APIs, and custom scripts efficiently without code bloat.
- Work with Marketing to implement CRO tests and conversion improvements.
- Manage page speed and technical performance (Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals).
- Ensure clean technical SEO (schema, site structure, tags, redirects).
- Maintain codebase in Git and build a clean, reusable component library.
- Develop new features as the company scales (checkout, upsell flows, post-purchase).
- Reduce app dependencies by coding core logic in Liquid and JavaScript.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years building custom Shopify 2.0 storefronts (portfolio/repo review required).
- Advanced Liquid engineering skills (section schema, dynamic blocks, metafield-driven templates).
- Strong understanding of JSON template architecture and Shopify 2.0 modularity.
- Experience enabling marketing teams to manage content safely via metafields.
- Agency experience preferred: fast iteration, multiple brand builds, CRO cycles.
- Ability to build and maintain a reusable component library.
- Knowledge of checkout extensibility and post-purchase flows.
- API integration (product feeds, ERP, email platforms).
- CRO tooling experience (Hotjar, GA4, Clarity, TripleWhale, or similar).
