As the **Senior Software Engineer**, you will play a key role as part of an agile team building innovative products that make life better for people. You will work across the modern stack, using the best technology to fit the problem. More importantly, what makes you a software engineer is that you are a creative thinker, going beyond the command line to engage your customers, stakeholders, and team members in solving complex problems.
**Core Responsibilities**
- Develop and deploy full stack applications and solutions using modern architectural patterns including Event-Driven Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, and Microservices
- Design and implement scalable distributed systems that handle complex business domains
- Work with product and technical peers to understand requirements and deliver outcomes
- Lead technical design discussions and help with architectural patterns and best practices
- Participate in design and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering
- Build in safety to move fast by working in small increments, writing testable and maintainable code, and getting continuous feedback
- Advance the values of the organization (caring, accountability, integrity, empowerment, passion, fun)
**Technical Requirements**
**Software Architecture Expertise**
- Strong understanding of Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) patterns and implementation
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and strategic design patterns
- Proven track record building and maintaining microservices architectures
- Understanding of distributed systems patterns and challenges
- Experience with event sourcing and CQRS patterns
**Development Stack**
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Expert proficiency with JavaScript ecosystem, including:
- NextJS, TypeScript, and SST
- Modern frontend frameworks and best practices
**Cloud & Infrastructure**
- Strong cloud expertise, particularly AWS:
- EventBridge for event-driven implementations
- DynamoDB, Lambda
- Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with service mesh and container orchestration
**API Development**
- RESTful API design and implementation
- Event-driven API patterns
- Third-party API integration
- API documentation and developer support
**AI & LLM**
- Integrate GPT-class models into high-availability, production workloads (web, mobile, micro-services, and data pipelines).
- Experience of chain-of-thought, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and other emerging design patterns to maximize accuracy, latency, and cost-efficiency.
- Build with modern LLM frameworks - hands-on ability with LangChain (agents, tools, memory) or equivalent.
**Security Implementation**
- OAuth 2.0 (Okta/Auth0)
- Authorization concepts (RBAC, ABAC & ReBAC)
- Fine-grained authorization
- Microservices security patterns
**Database Expertise**
- Experience across relational and non-relational systems
- Event store implementation
- Data modeling for distributed systems
- Understanding of eventual consistency patterns
**DevOps Background**
- Test automation
- CI/CD pipelines
- Version control (Git)
- Monitoring and observability (Datadog)
**Professional Qualities**
- Proven track record of ownership and problem-solving
- Excellence in both technical and business communication
- Self-motivated with ability to inspire and mentor others
- Innovative mindset with focus on iterative development and continuous improvement
