JOB SUMMARY

The Systems Engineer I assists in implementing IT solutions, monitoring system performance, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in infrastructure support while gaining hands-on experience in a healthcare environment.

Working under the direct supervision of the IT Infrastructure Manager, the Systems Engineer I provides technical support for the hospital’s IT infrastructure, focusing on foundational system administration tasks, troubleshooting, and daily maintenance. This entry-level position supports hardware and software systems, backups, end-user computing, and documentation while contributing to the stability, performance, and security of Campbell County Health systems.

This position is on-site in Gillette, WY.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists in the installation, configuration, and basic maintenance of servers, workstations, and infrastructure components under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Monitors system performance and responds to alerts or reported issues to ensure minimal service disruption.
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting for end-users on hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Assists in the implementation and documentation of routine system changes, patches, and updates.
  • Supports backup and disaster recovery procedures, including periodic testing and maintenance.
  • Participates in maintaining accurate technical documentation and installation procedures.
  • Works independently to gather requirements and translate those into solutions for the organization.
  • Works closely with the IT team to support system security, antivirus management, and user access control.
  • Contributes to the development of positive working relationships with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to excellent customer service and follows up to ensure user satisfaction.
  • Maintains awareness of emerging technologies and participates in ongoing training and development.
  • Takes ownership of key strategic projects and drives new opportunities/solutions.
  • Complies with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including the Code of Conduct.
  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
