Responsibilities:
- Work with both engineers and artists to assist, enhance and streamline asset production
- Formulate feature requests for the engineers and help them create new features for the artists
- Shader development (Material Graph/HLSL)
- Prepare documentation for pipelines, tools and procedures if necessary
- Conduct CPU/GPU performance profiling and analyze content statistics to ensure compliance with the project's technical requirements
- Identify and address content-related performance bottlenecks, and propose solutions to improve performance
- Help with establishing and/or maintaining project’s graphical budget
- Adapt and optimize content for the performance and memory limitations of gaming consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S).
- Communicate with the client on various potential issues that may come up during production cycle
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience as a Technical Artist in game industry
- Knowledge of mainstream game engines (Unreal Engine is a must, Unity will be a plus)
- Understanding of modern modelling, sculpting and texturing techniques
- Scripting knowledge (C#, Python etc.)
- Shader writing experience
- Understanding Physically Based Rendering concepts
- Understanding of the processes for optimizing graphical content to achieve high performance
- Experience using tools like Unreal Insights, PIX/RenderDoc for performance analysis and optimization
- Knowledge of the specifics and technical limitations of console platforms
- Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback
- Self-motivation, strong problem-solving skills and team-player attitude
Nice to have:
- Experience with a proprietary engine
- Experience using Razor GPU/CPU profiler
- Scripting workflow tools in MEL, MaxScript or Python
- Knowledge of procedural workflow tools such as Houdini and Substance Designer
