Job Description
You will work closely with your Team Lead to create photorealistic textures, as well as work on shading and develop the look of assets (characters, environment elements and/or props).
What you will do:
- Create textures according to references (internal or provided by the client).
- Create UVs for the assets to be textured (multi-tile).
- Be responsible for the lookdev and shading of the asset in Arnold for Houdini.
- Produce photorealistic elements while respecting the technical and aesthetic standards established for the current project (film or television series).
- Use appropriate methods to meet deadlines and optimize render times.
- Follow established techniques and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Collaborate with the Lighting department to ensure the asset is photorealistic in the context of the shot.
- Occasionally create shading networks using procedurals.
- Ingest textures coming from other suppliers.
Qualifications
What you bring:
- Knowledge of Mari and/or Substance Painter and Photoshop.
- Strong knowledge of shaders and AOVs.
- Minimum 2 years of 3D texturing experience in the VFX industry or with a raytracing rendering engine (Arnold, V-Ray, etc.).
- Knowledge of Arnold and Houdini is an important asset.
- Knowledge of Nuke and Maya is an asset.
