<p>Robinhood is looking for an Assistant General Counsel to join our growing International Legal team, with experience in brokerage and crypto regulations with a focus on the EU, who is excited to work at the intersection of regulation, technology, and finance. This role is well suited for a highly adaptable and collaborative person, who can handle ambiguity and rapidly shifting priorities with flexibility and perseverance. <h2><strong>What you’ll do</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Navigate complex regulatory frameworks to help the business design innovative financial products and services</li>
<li>Identify and draft necessary changes to the firm's systems and procedures to meet the requirements of new rules/regulations</li>
<li>Engage with financial regulators, including ESMA and NCAs, and other international regulators</li>
<li>Draft regulatory applications, agreements, policies and procedures, disclosures, account documentation and website materials</li>
<li>Monitor regulatory developments and making resulting recommendations</li>
<li>Research brokerage and crypto questions and provide legal analysis and recommendations</li>
<li>Partner cross-functionally with teams including litigation, compliance, product and government affairs</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>What you bring </strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Qualified lawyer either in the UK or EU with at least 8 years PQE, specialising in financial services regulatory law</li>
<li>8+ years of legal practice experience specialising in financial services regulatory law</li>
<li>In-house legal experience, preferably at a financial service technology company or cryptocurrency business</li>
<li>Experience at a financial services regulatory agency</li>
<li>Knowledge or expertise in the rules and regulations relevant to broker-dealers and crypto firms in the European Union</li>
<li>Experience interpreting and providing advice on the implementation of MiFID II and MiFIR</li>
<li>Track record of developing practical solutions to novel problems</li>
<li>Exceptional project management and communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to provide practical, strategic and business-oriented legal advice, and to effectively manage multiple time sensitive tasks</li>
<li>Experience drafting comment letters, working with industry trade groups, and engaging in rulemaking and legislative advocacy efforts</li>
