Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize legal files and records in accordance with established protocols.
- Assist in the management of electronic and physical document storage systems.
- Ensure that all documents are accurately filed, cataloged, and easily retrievable.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including subpoenas and legal notices.
- Prepare and process documents for legal proceedings, including indexing and summarizing complex files.
- Assist attorneys and paralegals in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by providing necessary documentation.
- Conduct regular audits of records to ensure compliance with legal standards and internal policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a clerical role, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in using office software, including MS Word, Excel, and legal case management software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
